GIANT 3The Giant 3 (IMO: 7706029, Port of Registry: Rotterdam) is a 140 meters long, 36 meters wide semisubmersible ocean-going transportation barge owned by Smit Transport and Heavy Lift, Rotterdam. She has a deck area of 4,320 sq.m., has a maximum deck load of 15 tonnes per sq.m. and a maximum summer deadweight of 24,000 tonnes. The vessel is equipped with a Detroit Diesel, type 4-71, 4 cylinders, water-cooled diesel engine, rated at 130 bhp when running at 1800 rpm. She was built in 1970 at Mitsui Engineering & Shipbuilding, Japan.

The Giant 3 entered the port of Rotterdam this morning in tow by the tug Multratug 17, owned by International Transport Contractors.
