The Beaufort Explorer (IMO: 8112500, Ex. Name: CGG Laurentian, Port of Registry: Nassau, Bahama’s) is a specialized seismic vessel equipped for 3D/4D surveys. With a length of 85 m for a width of 17 m, six streamer winches and two back decks, the vessel is easily modulated for various type of surveys: undershoots, 2D, 3D, 4D and OBC surveys and specific exploration surveys. The ship is 85 meters long, 17 meters wide and has a gross tonnage of 3,375. The vessel is propelled by four Wartsila WASA 8 R22 engines which gives the vessel a cruising speed of 11 knots. She was built in 1983 by Brattvaag, Norway and was redesigned is 2005 to her current form. The Beaufort Explorer can provide accomodation to a crew of 50. The vessel is currently owned by Arrow Seismic Invest IV, UK and managed by GC Rieber Shipping, UK.
The Beaufort Explorer is scheduled to arrive later tonight at the Waalhaven, Rotterdam.
